Ok Ok, so I've been super bad and haven't posted in some time. But, that doesn't mean I haven't been sucked into any books. I've been reading plenty on library cataloging and Kentucky non-fiction out the wazoo. However, I'm still trying to keep up with the world of YA fantasy.
My newest read is "Fallen in Love" by Lauren Kate. If you like whiny girls that cry because their man loves them, but they don't know if their man loves them, then this one is for you. I did really enjoy three of the stories in here (which is shocking bc I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day), but when it came to Luce and Daniel's story, I was just put out that she allows her life to revolve around this one boy, (well, not really, but if you've read the series you'll know what I'm griping about). His surprise was great, but she needs to think more highly of herself.
So anyway, it was better than "Passion" and so I'm sort of looking forward to 'Rapture.' What I really want to know is why Luce's dress is white on the next cover instead of black like all the others. (As I write this, I realize I am really excited about the next book.) Way to go book covers!!
Back on topic, this book tells the story of the only Valentine's Day Luce and Daniel ever spend together, but it also tells stories concerning Miles, Shelby, Roland, and Arriane. There is one major typo that I am shocked no one caught. When Kate is telling Arriane's story, there are two chapter twos. What's up with that and why didn't she or the editor catch it? It threw me off right away and is still bugging the day lights out of me.
Oh well, my husband says when I get my book publish I can tear it apart too. Whether you already read this series or are thinking about picking it up, I would recommend it with reservation. I do like the story line, I just don't like the lengths Luce goes to to prove that Daniel loves her. She has no faith, only doubt and disbelief which is funny because it's a book about.... haha, not going to spoil it for you, sorry. Good reading to you all, on to the next 'Stephen's Diaries: The Ripper.' I'll let you know how it turns out.
